WHY I BUILT FOREMAN

It started in a garage.

When people ask why I started Foreman.

The honest answer is...

I never planned to.

It began as a hobby.

I've always enjoyed building and modifying petrol-powered equipment. I'd spend evenings in the garage seeing what I could create.

One of the first projects was buying a generator, removing the generator head, changing the crankshaft, and fitting a pressure washer pump.

Later, I built a petrol-powered log splitter.

I wasn't trying to start a business.

I simply enjoyed engineering and understanding how things worked.

Learning the industry

As time went on, I started importing professional pumps directly from Italy and building pressure washers to sell as a side business.

That eventually became Agrijet.

Working with customers taught me a great deal about the market, but it also exposed a problem.

People often struggled to understand exactly what they were buying.

Would this pump work with that engine?

What pressure would that combination really produce?

Would it be reliable?

Would parts still be available years later?

The information existed, but it was often confusing, buried behind technical data or hidden within model numbers that meant very little unless you already knew the industry.

The turning point

At some point, I realised something.

The industry didn't need another reseller.

It needed greater transparency.

Professional users deserved to understand exactly what they were buying before investing their money.

Looking back, that's when Foreman really began.

Not as a business.

As an idea.

The objective wasn't to reinvent pressure washing equipment.

It was to build professional machines around proven engineering, honest specifications, and long-term ownership.

Building Foreman

With support from Business Durham, I began developing Foreman properly.

Every machine was independently assessed, tested, and put through the UKCA conformity process before carrying the Foreman name.

Nothing was rushed.

The product range followed.

The website followed.

The technical information followed.

Each step was taken with the same objective:

Build the business properly from the beginning.

Still Earning Our Reputation

Foreman is still a new name.

We don't expect professional users to trust us simply because we ask them to.

Trust has to be earned.

Every machine we assemble.

Every customer we support.

Every decision we make.

Is another opportunity to earn that reputation.

That's the business I set out to build.

And it's still the business we're building today.
